수원 지역 어린이문학가 안준식의 삶과 문학

A Study on Juvenile Writer An Jun-Sick

운파(雲波) 또는 구름결을 필명으로 썼던 안준식(安俊植)(1901-1951) 은 경기도 수원이 낳은 근대 첫 어린이문학인이다. 이 글은 잊혔던 그의 삶을 재구성한 것이다. 첫째, 안준식은 오랫동안 영천 지역 어린이문학가 안평원과 같은 사람으로 잘못 알려져 왔다. 안준식은 수원에서 보통학교를 졸업하고, 서울에서 인쇄 노동자로 일하며 배재고보를 만학도로 다니다 중퇴했다. 1925년 무렵부터 인쇄소 동아사를, 1926년에 별나라사를 세워 나라잃은시대 현실주의 어린이문학을 대표하는 잡지 별나라 를 1935년까지 10년 동안 펴냈다. 수원 지연과 배재고보 학연을 중심 고리로 삼아 활동했던 그는 전쟁기인 1951년 3월 북으로 올라가다 황해도에서 폭격으로 영면했다. 둘째, 안준식의 삶은 세 가지로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 소년 활동가로서 그는 지식인, 유학생 중심의 초기 세대와 달리 1925년 무렵부터 1930년대 초반까지 무산 소년 활동을 내세우며 활동했던 새 세대의 중심 인물이었다. 인쇄출판인으로서 그는 82권을 펴낸 별나라 발행에서 우뚝하다. 카프의 어린이문학 기관지 몫을 맡았던 󰡔별나 라󰡕는 제국주의 왜로 탄압 속에서 이룬 대표적인 투쟁 매체였다. 어린이 문학가로서 그는 이름 높은 동화구연가며 작가로 폭넓은 활동을 벌였다. 이 글로 안준식의 삶과 문학을 향한 첫 걸음을 뗐다. 앞으로 그의 문학이 수원 지역문학 전통으로 되살 뿐 아니라, 근대 어린이문학사에서 마땅한 자리매김이 이루어지기 바란다.

Ahn Jun-Sik(1901-1951), who wrote the name of ‘cloud texture’ or ‘Yunpa’, is the first modern juvenile literature writer of Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. This is the first reconstruction of his forgotten life, and the recognition of literature. First, An Jun-Sik has been misguided as an An Pyung-Won who lived in Yeongcheon area for a long time. He graduated from a middle school in Suwon, worked as a print worker in Seoul, and dropped out of Baeje-gobo school as a student. In 1925, he had founded Donga-sa, a printing company, and Byeolnara-sa in 1926, published the magazine Byeolnara, representing the realistic children’s literature in the age of lost country. Having served as the centerpiece of the Suwon Jiyoun and the Disappearing Gobo hackyeon, he ascended to the north in March 1951 and died in Hwanghae Province. He was active in the regional network of Suwon and the Baeje-gobo school, and he died at Hwanghae-do in March 1951. Second, Ahn Jun-Sik’s life can be divided into three. As a boy activist, he was a central figure in the new generation, who, unlike the early generations of intellectuals and international students, promoted the activities of boys from 1925 to the early 1930s. As a print publisher, he is proud of his publication of 82 books from Byeolnara. Byeolnara, who played a role as a child literary bourgeoisie of KAPF, was a representative struggle medium in imperialist persecution. As a juvenile literature writer, he is a famous fairy tale and has performed a wide range of activities as a writer. This was the first step toward the life and literature of Ahn Jun-Sik, a literary writer who forgot about this. In the future, I hope that his literary works will not only be revived as a literary tradition in the Suwon region, but will also be deserved in the modern history of children’s literature.
