Effects of Horticultural Therapy on the Self-esteem, Social-supporter and Stress of the High School Students

The putting 1st graders in an academic high school as subjects,27 students who participated in the horticulture treatment therapy program and 27 students of control group were selected and surveyed before and after the program. The study period was 2010.3.13~2010.12.18 and the horticulture treatment therapy program was carried out once biweekly. Before the horticulture treatment therapy, measurement was done on self-esteem, social-support, and stress to find out whether there was a homogeneity between the two groups and concluded that the two groups were in not much differences, feasible enough to proceed the therapy. the result of identifying the area of self-esteem, concluded in treatment group’s p=0.000(<0.01) which showed a statistical significance. the result of identifying the area of social-support, concluded in treatment group’s p=0.002(<0.05) which showed a statistical significance. the result of identifying the area of stress, concluded in treatment group’s p=0.002(<0.05) which showed a statistical significance.
