A Study on the Management Status and Improvement Plan of Landscape Plants on an Apartment Complexes: Focused on an Apartment Complexes on Gyeonggi-do, Korea

This study was carried out to survey and analyze the management status of landscape plants on an apartment complexes in Gyeonggi-do, Korea. The results are summarized as follows; Apartment complexes whose annual management cost is less than 5,000 thousand won were 75.4%. Because of budget crunch, they couldn’t entrust the management to landscape management company. So they managed their own that it is difficult to carry out all kinds of management work. In 74.7% apartment complexes, their apartment managers managed landscape for themselves. And 83% of them were laymen, so that it is difficult to manage the landscape in detail and professionally. In 62.1% apartment complexes, they didn’t have the manual for landscape management. There were problems such as the above mentioned. To improve the landscape management, it is necessary to increase annual management cost and to make a landscape management education programs and to propagate the landscape management manual for apartment complexes so that anyone who does not have specialist knowledge about landscape management.
