튤립의 자구크기와 재식거리에 따른 지상부 및 구근 생육

Effect of Bulb Size and Planting Distance on Shoot and Bulb Growth in Tulipa gesneriana L.

  • 26

This study was conducted to examine the effects of bulb size and planting distance on shoot and bulb growth to develop the cultivation method for effective bulb production of Tulipa gesneriana in southwest coast region, Korea. In ‘Kees Nelis’ and ‘Ile de France’ cultivars, when 5~6cm circumference of bulbs was planted with the 4×4 cm spacing, plant height was longer but flowering rate was lower than the other treatments. The flowering rate was highest and plant height was shortest in the wider 8×8 cm and 10×10 cm spacing without regard to bulb size. Bulb enlargement was progressed since the end of March, and increased rapidly until the end of May. Especially, the 10×10 cm spacing was more effective in the enlargement of the bulb. Bulb growth such as bulb diameter, bulb height, and bulb weight, of ‘Kees Nelis’ and ‘Ile de France’ cultivars was more effective in the 10×10 cm spacing than in the closer 4×4 cm spacing without regard to bulb size.
