This study was conducted to know the attitude toward plants of elementary school students in Jinju, Namhae, Hadong, Sancheong, and Uiryeong in Gyeongsangnam-do. In the results of the analysis according to the elementary school grade of the students, the 5th and 6th grader showed higher values in the importance of the plant and the utilization of the plant than the 4th grader, and the 6th grader showed lower values in the degree of interest in the plant than the 4th and 5th grader. In the analysis according to gender, there were significant differences between the male and the female students in the importance of the plant, the interest in the plant, the utilization of the plant, and it could be seen that the female students showed higher values in the attitude toward the plant than the male. It was found that there were differences in the attitude toward the plant depending on whether the students’ parents were engaging in farming. The students whose parents were engaging in farming showed high values in the importance of the plant and the interest in the plant, and there were no differences of the urban trees and the utilization of the plant. It was found that there were differences in the parents’ preference for cultivating plants according to the school year. The 4th grader parents were the highest in the preference for cultivating plants, followed by the 5th and 6th grader parents. It was found that there were differences in the parents’ preference for cultivating plants according to gender. The female students’ patents were higher in the preference for cultivating plats than the male students’ parents. It was found that there were differences in the attitude toward the importance of the plant according to the parents’ preference for cultivating plants, and the differences in the attitude toward street trees and the trees in the park, the degree of interest in the plant, and the utilization of the plant were statistically significant. It appears that there are differences in the attitude toward the plant according to the parents’ preference for cultivating plants.
