대학생의 사회봉사 교과목 수강경험에 관한 연구

A Study on Experience in taking Social Service Subjects of university students -Community Children Center Volunteer-

대학에서 사회봉사 교과목의 개설로 자원봉사활동을 하는 대학생이 큰 폭으로 증가 하였으나 사회복지학을 전공하지 않는 학생들이 교양과목으로 사회봉사 교과목을 수강하는 경우 이들의 경험에 대한 연구가 적어 지역아동센터에서 자원봉사활동을 한 대학생들의 경험을 이해하고자 질적연구를 수행하였으며 연구방법은 현상학 중 Giorgi의 방법을 사용하였다. 9명의 대학생에 대한 심층 면접으로 그들의 경험에서 ‘미래를 보는 창’이란 전체 주제를 찾아내었으며 6개의 구성요소와 16개의 하위 구성 요소를 찾았다. 봉사자들은 학점취득이라는 성취동기와 편리성에 의해 사회봉사를 시작한다. 이들은 책임감을 느끼며 직장생활체험을 하고 점차 대상아동에 대하여 애증의 양가감정을 겪기도 한다. 학업을 병행하고, 또한 기관 직원들과 소통부재로 ‘의욕 상실’에 빠지기도 하며 보상과 지지체계 여부에 따른 차이를 경험하며 사회봉사학습을 통해 새로운 세상을 만난다.

This study aimed at understanding of the volunteering experience in taking Social Service Subjects of university students to provide basic data on purpose. The data were obtained by in-depth interview from 9 university students who volunteered in taking social service subject at Community Children Centers and analyzed by a Giorgi s content analysis in phenomenological approach. The results of this analysis are as follows. Whole subject is window view on the future of their experience. Six components and 16 sub-components was found. Six components are On ease of participation and achievement motivation, Workplace experience, Ambivalent feelings about the client, Loss of motivation, The difference according to Reward and support systems, Encounter the new world. University students who started volunteering by achievement motivation and convenience are exposed to the new world and start learning a variety of society. Work study program Volunteers experienced the fear and sense of responsibility through a difficult task. Study participants experienced ambivalence of pity and disappointment to the clients and learn the characteristics of the children and gradually adapted to the new world. Rare talk with fellow volunteers, no communication with agents except a simple greeting, sometimes volunteering is the most serious crisis loss of motivation , and they experience burnout. And they experience difference according to whether the compensation and support system, and they hope providing incentives and supervision for lack of support systems offers. If things pan out they determined to continue volunteering. Faint, but the length of life begin to appear.
