자폐 스펙트럼 장애 아동 어머니의 양육 스트레스와 인지적 정서조절전략의 관계

The Relationships of the Cognitive Emotional Regulations, Parental Stress among Mothers of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Focusing on the Moderating Effects of Positive Reappraisal

본 연구에서는 자폐 스펙트럼 장애 아동의 어머니를 대상으로 아동의 자폐특성과 문제행동의 심각도와 어머니의 인지적 정서조절전략이 양육 스트레스에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고 아동의 자폐특성과 문제행동의 심각도가 어머니의 양육 스트레스에 미치는 영향이 적응적인 인지적 정서조절전략에 의해 조절되는지 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 196명의 자폐 스펙트럼 장애 아동과 어머니를 대상으로 자폐증 평정척도, 문제행동(내재화/외현화)척도, 양육 스트레스, 적응적인 인지적 정서조절전략 척도를 실시하였다. 연구결과에서 어머니의 양육 스트레스는 아동의 성별, 연령에 따라 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나, 아동의 문제행동과 자폐특성의 심각도가 심각할수록 어머니의 양육 스트레스가 유의하게 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 긍정적 재평가 전략이 자폐특성 심각도와 양육 스트레스 간의 관계에서 유의미한 조절작용을 하는 것으로 확인되었으나, 문제행동 심각도와 양육 스트레스 간의 관계에서의 조절효과의 경우 유의미하지 않았다. 마지막으로 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 임상 장면에서 자폐 스펙트럼 장애 아동의 어머니의 심리적 적응을 돕기 위한 치료 및 부모교육의 실제적인 적용에 대해 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study were to examine the effects of the severity of autism traits, behavior problems(externalizing behavior/internalizing behavior) of 196 children with autism spectrum disorders(ASD) aged 2-13, and their mother s cognitive emotional regulations strategies on the parental stress of mothers of children with ASD. This study also examined the mediating effect of mother s adaptive cognitive emotional regulations on the relationship between severity of autism, behavior problems and parental stress. The instruments included Korean version of Parenting Stress Index, Adaptive Cognitive Emotion Regulations, Child Behavior Checklist, Childhood Autism Rating Scale. Results indicated that child s sex and age were not associated with parental stress, whereas mothers of children with higher severity of autism and behavior problems experienced significantly more parental stress than less severity group. The severity of behavior problems was the strongest predictor of parental stress. The study further showed that positive reappraisal strategy was the only mediator strategy in the relationship between severity of autism and parental stress, whereas it had no moderating effect on relation between severity of behavior problems with parental stress. Results are discussed in relation to applications for clinical practice and parent eduction efforts.
