교육대학원에서 상담을 전공하는 기혼여성의 학업경험에 관한 내러티브 탐구

A Narrative Inquiry on the Experiences of Married Women Majoring in Counseling at a Graduate School of Education

본 연구의 목적은 교육대학원에서 상담을 전공하는 기혼여성이 어떠한 경험을 하는지를 심층적으로 분석하는 것이다. 연구 참여자들은 교육대학원에서 상담을 전공 하고 있는 기혼여성 두 명으로 선정하였다. 연구방법으로는 연구 참여자들의 이야기 를 중심으로 그들의 경험을 깊이 있게 이해하는데 효과적인 내러티브 탐구 방법을 활용하였다. 내러티브 분석결과, 각각의 연구 참여자는 전공 공부에 대한 기대를 가지고 교육대학원에 입학하였으나 수업 내용 및 교수에 대한 실망, 동료들과의 갈등 을 경험하고, 이러한 과정 속에서 자기 성찰의 기회를 얻고 상담자로서 성장해나가고 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 연구 참여자들이 시간의 흐름에 따라 기대, 실망, 갈등, 성찰, 성장의 경험을 하고 있음을 보여주었으며, 그들의 교육대학원에서의 상담 전공 학업경험은 ‘열정으로 시작하여 상담자 되어가기’로 표현 될 수 있었다. 이밖에 교육대학원의 상담전공 교육과정 및 상담자 발달에 관한 연구결과의 의의, 연구의 제한점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the experiences of married women who were majoring in counseling at the Graduate School of Education. The study participants were two married women who were majoring in counseling at the Graduate School of Education. Narrative inquiry was used as a research method. It is an effective method of understanding the story of participants experiences deeply. As the results of narrative inquiry, main theme was identified from the participants narratives: To start with enthusiasm and to become counselors, and according to the passage of time, participants have experienced expectations, disappointment, conflict, despair, reflection, and growth. At last, the study discussed significance of the findings, implications for counseling education at a graduate school of education, suggestions for future research, and limitations of the present study were discussed.
