This research investigates the efficacy of non-verbal communicative methods of taekwondo instructors as it relates to the collective faith in the instructor s capabilities and how it correlates with the consistency in class participation rate. The investigation was conducted on a total of 240 elementary or middle school students that have been involved in taekwondo classes (164 males and 76 females) from 20 different dojangs spread across Seoul, Kyeonggi or Kangwon districts. The collected data were processed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 to perform frequency analysis, normality validation, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, measurement model validation and structural equation model validation via path analysis. In summary, the analyses demonstrated a positive impact with non-verbal communicative methods in building up the trust and increasing consistency in class participation rates. Of note, students with better understanding of the instructors intentions with the non-verbal approach were prone to greater confidence and faith in the instructor s capabilities and better overall attendance. In conclusion, we report a positive correlation between non-verbal instructions and the buildup of trust, and consequentially the motivation level for continued participation.
