고려후기 대책문의 종류와 성격

이 논문은 고려후기 대책문을 종합하여 그 성격을 살펴보려는 것이다. 당대의 현안 문제를 질문하고 대응 방법을 구하는 과거 시험의 답안의 하나인 대책문은 고려 예부시의 이곡과 이색, 정몽주, 원의 제과의 이곡과 안축 그리고 정동행성 향시의 이곡과 이색의 글 등 7종이 남아 있다. 원의 대책문은 유교의 문제의식이 담긴 육경(六經)과 유교의 교화론을 전제함으로써 원이 유교 문화의 확산을 통하여 중국 중심의 동아시아 질서를 지향하고 있음을 보여준다. 고려의 대책문은 원나라의 이러한 정책에 부응하 여, 유교 경전인 육경(六經)의 의미를 파악하고 유교식 외적 방어와 이민족의 교화를 제시함으로써 유교적 문명화를 도모하는 것이었다. 그리하여 고려후기 대책문은 당대 현안 문제인 질문과 답변을 통해 유학 본래의 의미를 인식 하고, 현실에 적용 가능한 지의 여부를 타진함으로써 조선 유교 사회를 여는 기반을 마련하고 있다고 하겠다.

This paper aims to synthesize Answer Sheets of Civil Service Examination and to examine its character during the second half of the Goryeo Dynasty. The answer sheet is one of the forms of test papers of Civil Service Examination. They ask questions about current issues at that time and ask for ways to respond. There are seven existing Answer Sheets including those of Yi Gok and Yi Saek and Jeong Mong-ju for the Ministry of Rites Examination and those of Yi Gok and An Chuk for the Yuan Dynasty’s Civil Service Examination, and those of Yi Gok and Yi Saek for the Examination of Country Magistrates of the Zhengdong Province征東行省. The Yuan Dynasty’s Answer Sheets clearly show that the circle is oriented toward the East Asian order, centered on China through the spread of Confucian culture, presuming that the content of the Six Classics六經, which contains the Confucian sense of issue, and the doctrine of the Confucian doctrine. In response to this content of the Yuan Dynasty, Answer Sheets of the Goryeo Dynasty sought Confucian Civilization by grasping the meaning of Six Classics, a Confucian scripture, presenting Confucian external defense and enlightening foreign ethnic group. Therefore, Answer Sheets of the latter half of the Goryeo Dynasty demonstrate that they recognized the original meaning of the Confucianism and they even examined its applicability to reality through questions and answers about issues of the time, and it provides the basis for opening a Confucian society in the Joseon Dynasty.
