대학생들의 조별발표수업 경험에 대한 교육적 의미 탐색

Exploring Educational Meaning of the Team Presentation Class for Undergraduates

본 연구는 대학교에서 조별발표수업의 교육적 유용성에 주목하여 학습자의 경험을 중심으로 교육적 의미를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대전광역시에 소재하고 있는 한 대학교의 교직과정 이수 대학생들을 대상으로 2018년도 2학기 8~13주자까지 조별발표수업을 시행한 후 반성적 글쓰기를 실시, 이를 분석하였다. 반성적 글쓰기 분석 결과, 학생들은 조별발표수업에 대해서는 부담감과 불안감, 과제수행과정에 서는 시간조정과 내용이해, 발표 준비에 대한 책임감으로 어려움을 겪는 반면 협업을 통한 학습 효과와 집단 지성 경험, 소통과 배려의 중요성을 깨닫게 되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학생들은 조별발표수업을 통해 학습에 대한 성찰, 교사되어보기, 사고의 재구성을 경험하고 자신감과 책임감을 향상시키게 되는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 조별발표수업이 효과적으로 이루어지기 위해서는 조원들 간 관계형성이 매우 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과 조별발표수업의 교육적 의미는 학생들로 하여금 협력을 통한 지적 성장, 소통과 배려의 중요성 인식, 그리고 성찰과 감사라는 인격적 성숙을 경험하게 한다는 점에서 찾아볼 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과는 대학교에서의 조별발표수업은 학생들에게 학습적 측면에서의 유용성 뿐 아니라 지적, 인격적 성숙을 통한 전인적 성장이라는 교육적 기능을 수행하고 있음을 보여준다.

The purpose of this study is to exploring educational meaning of the team presentation class for undergraduates using reflective writing. For this study, undergraduates of 57 participated in team presentation class. The result of this study are as follows. First, it was appear that the most of participants were unwilling to do team presentation class because of anxiety on team members’ faithfulness and burden on group work. During the performance of team presentation class, they had a hard time to set up a time all meet together and a difficult time understanding the assigned contents as learner. On the other hand, they recognized the importance of communication and sympathy in people’s relationship through cooperative learning and experienced collective intelligence by exchanging opinions with each other. Second, team presentation class offered the opportunity to participants as follows; the review on self-learning, being teacher and expanding one’s thoughts through thinking’s reconstruction through group discussion. Third, educational meaning of team presentation class may be summarized as follows; to lead the intellectual growth, to realize the value of communication and to consider in relationship, and to guide the character’ maturity of learners. The results of this study shows that team presentation class is an effective learning-method to improve students’ learning capacity in university and moreover it clearly play a important role to accomplish educational nature as intellectual growth and maturity in character.
