“Saebora” is a new leaf vegetable perilla (Perilla frutescens (L.) Britton) variety developed from a cross between “Ipdeulkkae1” and YCPL199 at the Yeongnam Agricultural Research Institute, NICS, RDA, in 2004. Purple backside leaf color is a very important breeding target for the high quality perilla leaf. “Saebora” has the clear purple color in backside leaf without affecting green color of upper side leaf in all climate condition. Because of seed maturity of “Saebora” (Oct. 25) than that of “Ipdeulkkae1” (Oct. 29) under natural condition, the cultivar have less chance of frost damage. The leaf yield of “Saebora” is 1% higher than that of check variety “Ipdeulkkae1” and leaf number of “Saebora” is 10% higher than that of “Ipdeulkkae1” “Saebora” is a new leaf vegetable perilla (Perilla frutescens (L.)
