큰 음녀 바벨론의 심판에 대한 환상(17:1-19:10)은 로마제국의 정치적 현실에 대한 요한의 인식뿐만 아니라, 정의와 평화의 대안적 세계를 위한 그의 대항 전략을 분명하게 보여준다. 이 논문의 목적은 이 환상을 희생자들의 시각으로부터 새롭게 해석함으로써 약자들의 주체성을 부인하는 로마의 정치적 억압과 식민지의 가난한 자들을 착취하는 시장경제 체제를 비판하는 요한저항과 주체신학을 추구하는 데 있으며, 이로써 오늘의 지구적 자본의 제국에 저항하고 대안적 세계를 추구하는 그리스도인들의 신앙 실천을 신학적으로 지지하는 데 있다.

The vision of the judgment of Babylon the Great(l7:1-19:10) reveals not only John' s perceptions about the political reality of the Roman Empire, but also his counter-strategy toward an alternative world of justice and peace. The aim of this paper is to seek John's theology of resistance and subjectivity which criticizes both the political order and exploitative market economy of the imperial Rome denying the subjectivity of the poor. This work supports theologically the spiritual life of those who resist against the empire of the global capital today and those who seek an alternative world.
