&nbsp;&nbsp;Due to the Reformation in the 16th century, England underwent confrontation between the Catholic Church and Protestantism, and at the same time observed the establishment of the Church of England also known as the Anglican Church. Such conflicts between religions and within sects brought about serious political disputes as well as violent attacks and persecution against opposing Churches. This research, focusing on the Age of Queen Elizabeth I, discusses the struggle between religion and politics in England resulting from differing interpretations among Churches and within the Catholic Church regarding the Biblical verses of Romans 13: 1-7. First, it examines several themes such as the function of the state, authority, and submission, from Apostle Paul&quot;s Romans 13. Second, it briefly introduces the thoughts of the early 16th century European Reformers, which had an impact on the English Reformation. Third, it also traces the Reformation process toward the establishment of the Anglican Church and political confrontation amongst Churches, and discusses interpretational swings of Romans 13, specifically focusing on the Catholic Church.
