[특집논문] 한국 신학과 교회 발전에 기여한 한국신학연구소 30년 - 『신학사상』과 신학서적 출판을 중심으로

In February 1973 Dr. Ahn Byung-Mu established The Korea Theological Study Institute(KTSI) with the support of German Church. In Ibis year 2003 KTSI ce1ebrates its 30th anniversary. During last 30 years KTSI published 121 volumes of the quarterly. The Theological Thought, and ca. 300 theological books. Through analyzing the contents of The Theological Thought and theological books that KTSI published, I tried to examine the contributions of KTSI fer Korean church and society. 1. KTSI, lying-in room of Minjung theology, contributed to develop Minjung theology to become a representative Kerean theology and a world-renowned theology. 2. Through publishing theological books and treatises that teach the legitimation and necessity of taking part in the human rights movement, KTSI provided theoretical foundations for the democratization movement which tried to drive out military dictatorship in the 70th and 80th in Korea. 3. Through publishing theological books for theological seminaries, KTSI helped Korean theological seminaries that 1acked theological teaching materials. 4. KTSI offered a place for theologians to publish their books and treatises. 5. KTSI introduced the liberation theology, third world theologies and European theology comprehensively. This helped Korean theologians to take rank with international theologians and to do theology on the international level. 6. In addition, KTSI offered lectures of layman theology, lectures in local communities, open lectures to the public, lectures of foreign theologians, open forums of theological students, conferences of Korean and Japanese theologians, conferences for Southeast Asian history. Through these activities KTSI contributed to expand the base of theology in Korean church and society.
