The dualistic understnading of chaos and order based on polarity in nature has underpinned the Western thought, which can be equally applied to Christian theology. The modern scientificial theories, however, disclose that nature is the full of mystery in diversity and complexity. The cosmology of ecstatic naturalism in Western philosophy and Taoism in Eastern philosophy also provide the nondualistic understanding of nature. The contemplation of creation throught science, philosophy, and theology alludes to complex nature which is not a simple matter and/or mere chaos against divine order but the field of divine mystery and love. Reading of Genesis 1:1-2:4a based on the dynamics of the cosmos signifies that the chaotic mystery of nature is essential to divine creation as well as to the mutual relationship between God and creation.
