The miracle story of a serpent is more than a merely marvelous work of God and requires thrological interpretations. The miracle of a serpent that Moses experienced before in Exodus 4, is very similar to tje one here in Exdous 7. In this paper the author has tried not to focus exclusively on the serpent in the miracle story, that has been the case up until now, and focused the staff itself which was used by Moses and Aaron. This paper shows that the staff has inseparable relationship with the following 10 plagues. Also the paper criticizes the tendency that regards a serpent as the symbol of gods giving the power for the question, "who could do this miracle of a serpent?" Therefore, the magicians of Egypt tried to make more serpent with their staffs in order to prove that it was not the work of a god, but the work of men. The text in Exdous 7:8-13 reveals that the more important issye is not what kind of a living being was produced, but who did this miraculous work through the image of a serpent.
