A new spray chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflorum) cultivar “Peak” was bred by crossing between “Grand Pink” and “Relance”. Its growth and flower characteristics were investigated from 2002 to 2004 by shading culture in summer and retarding culture in spring. The natural flowering time of “Peak” was late October, but year-round production was possible by shading and lighting. Flower diameter was around 6.9 cm. The average number of the petal was 28, and the number of flowers per stem was 14 during summer. The of petal color was orange with presence of light green at flower center. It took about 47 days for chrysanthemum “Peak” to bloom from short-day start in spring. “Peak” was resistant to white rust and showed the vase life of 17 days in autumn.
