A new soybean cultivar “Anpyeong” was developed at the National Crop Experiment Station, RDA, in 2002. The crossing between Eunhakong and SS88034 was made in the summer season of 1991. The breeding line, SS91209-64-1-2, was selected and evaluated in yield trials from 1997 to 1999 at the National Crop Experiment Station, Suwon. Regional yield trials for this line, designated as Suwon 210, were performed three years from 2000 to 2002 over five locations. Anpyeong has determinate growth habit, purple flower color, grey pubescene, yellow testa and hilum color. The leaflet shape is lanceolate, and plant height is longer than that of Pungsannamulkong. It is moderate resistant to soybean mosaic virus (SMV) and resistant to the most troublesome soybean diseases. The seed weight of this cultivar is 11.6 gr per 100 seeds and this cultivar has spherical seed shape. The average yield was 2.53 MT/ha, which was higher than check cultivar Pungsannamulkong in the regional adaptation and yield trials at three locations for three years ( 00- 02).
