역사과 교육과정 개발의 쟁점과 과제

A Study on the Process of Developing a Final Draft for the National Curriculum in History in 2018

이 글은 중학교 역사·고등학교 한국사 교육과정 시안의 개발 방향이 설정되는 과정, 내용 체계 구성의 과제와 그 해결 방안에 대한 논의를 검토함으로써 향후 이루어질 역사과 교육과정 개발에 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 첫째, 2015년에 고시된 중학교 역사, 고등학교 한국사 교육과정에 대한 개정 요구를 반영하여 시안 개발의 범위와 방향을 어떻게 설정하였는지를 검토하였다. 둘째, 2009 개정 교육과정 이래 2015 고시안 발표에 이르기까지 지속적으로 이루어진 교육과정 구성 관련 쟁점을 검토하고, 이에 대한 개선안을 마련하는 과정에 대해 개발진 논의 사례를 통해 살펴보았다. 끝으로 향후 역사과 교육과정의 전면 개정을 대비하여, 교육과정 개발 연구 내용과 방법에서 중요하게 고려해야 할 사항에 대해 제시하였다.

This study set out to review the process of developing a final draft for the National Curriculum in History in 2018 - History(Korean history and World history) at lower-secondary level and Korean History at upper-secondary level. Most of all, attention is drawn to the discussion on how to come to terms with the issue of organizing a course of studies with the aim to offer future directions for the development of the National Curriculum in History. First, the process of setting the scope and directions of the draft for the National Curriculum in History in 2018 are outlined with a focus on the ways in which demands for revision of the National Curriculum in History in 2015 are accommodated. Second, the issues related to developing the National Curriculum in History from the 2009 revision to the announcement of the 2015 revision are reviewed in an attempt to form an alternative to existing curriculum. Finally, some suggestions for how to develop the National Curriculum in history in the future are made with an emphasis on the issue of how to conduct research on teaching and learning history with a long view.
