Resilience Effects on Turnover Intention of Hair Salon Workers: Centered on the Mediating Effect of Burnout

This study investigated the resilience effects on turnover intention of hair salon workers. In order to find new factors that affect turnover intention, researcher selected the field of resilience and burnout. This study focused on burnout at work. The degree of burnout can vary depending on an individual’s resilience level. Considering the fact that it is a crucial element which can cause turnover intention, it is the time to concentrate on enhancing manpower. Resilience was establised as an independent variable, turnover intention was set up as an dependent variable, and burnout as parameters in this study. A questionnaire was conducted on 687 employees of the hair salon. SPSS were used for analysis. The results found the following : First, resilience has a negative effect on burnout and turnover intention while burnout reveals a positive influence on turnover intention. Second, burnout showed a partial mediating effect between resilience and turnover intention. It is crucial to manage hair salon service employees’ burnout and urgent to develop and apply a program which can enhance resilience. Securing positive personnel can increase the securement rate of regular customers and have competitiveness in image improvement and sales improvement than other salons.
