본 연구는 로맨스소설 전자책 독서실태를 분석하여 문제를 파악, 개선방안을 모색하기 위해 수행되었다. 로맨스소설 전문 전자책 유통사인 A사의 플랫폼을 토대로 조사기간 동안 판매된 전자책 10,000권과 이것들을 구독한 독자 14,212 명을 대상으로 분석한 결과, 장르별 구독실태는 88.91%가 현대 로맨스와 일반 로맨스인 것으로 나타났다. 월평균 이용 책 수는 90.42%가 10권이하인 것으로 나타났다. 이용 시간대는 오후 58.78%, 오전 28.52%, 심야 8.62%, 저녁 4.08%순으로 나타났다. 접속 이용 단말기는 스마트폰 96.04%, PC 3.96%로 나타났다. 구독 만족도는 보통이 99.11%로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로, 로맨스 소설의 시장을 확대할 것과 장르의 다각화, 이를 위한 역량 있는 작가의 영입 및 양성을 제언하였다. 또한 인체공학적 연구를 통해 전자독서와 관련한 스마트폰 환경 기준을 마련할 것과 유해성 요소 파악 및 해소 방안을 강구할 것을 제언하였다.
This paper aimed to identify the problems and the approach to solve such problems by analyzing the romance novel reading status using e-Book. On the basis of the platform of the company A, the e-Book distributor specialized in romance novel, 14,212 readers using 10,000 e-Books sold during the survey period were analyzed. In accordance with the analysis on reading status per genre, 88.91% of e-Books was modern romance novels and general romance novels. For the average number of books read per month, 90.42% read less than 10 e-Books. The respondents reading e-Books in the afternoon, in the morning, at night and in the evening account for 58.78%, 28.52%, 8.62% and 4.08%, respectively. The terminals for reading books were smart phone(96.04%) and PC(3.96%). For the satisfaction on e-Book, 99.11% showed the general satisfaction. In accordance with the analysis results, this paper proposes that the romance novel market needs to be expanded and the genres of romance novels shall be diversified. To this end, it is also required to scout competent authors and develop authors. Furthermore, it is necessary to establish the standards for smart phone environment related to e-Book through ergonomic research, identify the harmful elements and find out the ways to eliminate such harmful elements.
