Deaf-blindness: A Review of Literature

농맹인의 재활과 정신건강에 관한 선행 연구 고찰

이 연구의 목적은 농맹 분야에서 최근 10여년간 이루어진 연구 경향과 성과를 조망하는 데에 있다. 농맹인 대상 교육 및 재활서비스는 상대적으로 오랜 역사에도 불구하고, 낮은 출현률, 장애/손상 정도의 다양성, 노령화에 따른 후천성 농맹인의 급속한 증가 등으로 인해 적절하고 효과적인 교육 및 재활서비스가 이루어지지 못하고 있다. 이에 따라, 이 연구에서는 심리적 어려움, 우울, 의사소통, 고용과 직업재활 등의 분야에 걸쳐 농맹인을 다룬 해외의 연구 성과를 소개함으로서 향후 우리나라의 농맹인 대상 재활 및 교육 서비스가 지향해야 할 점을 고민하는 계기를 마련하고자 시도하였다. 아울러, 농맹인 대상 연구를 위한 제언과 재활 서비스 현장에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to provide an updated review regarding research findings and trends about people with deaf-blindness. Deaf-blind people have to deal with many challenges, including communication, labor force participation, and psychological distress such as depression. However, they are scarce in number and very diverse group and it has hindered provision of effective psychological intervention and rehabilitation services. Research findings in different areas are presented. Implications and recommendations for future research and rehabilitation practice are also addressed.
