Performance Improvement of OTFT by Controlling Crystal Morphology and Direction of TIPS Pentacene

In this paper, we reported some ways to control crystal morphology and direction of TIPS pentacene by applying heat to substrate and inert gas flow during drying droplet. At Tsub = 60 oC a uniform crystal layer was produced and exhibited the larger field effect mobility than the other temperatures. We could also control the crystal direction by flowing inert gas such as Ar to the droplet, which dried it in unbalance along the flow direction, producing crystal direction parallel to current flow direction. By combining the above two ways we could make the high performance OTFT with the field effect mobility of 0.23 cm2/V.sec, on/off current ratio of 2.56ⅹ106.
