A Study of J inda Ceremony

우리의 차문화는 오랜 역사를 거치면서 전통문화 속에 민족적 정서를 형성하는 요소 중 하나로 변천해 왔다. 신라시대의 다례는 종묘의 다례와 불전의 헌다의례, 화랑도의 풍류도를 형성하는 기저사상을 바탕으로 행해졌다. 고려시대의 다례는 국가행사에 국가대전의식(國家大典儀式)으로서 차를 올리는 진다의식(進茶儀式)이 거행되었으며 궁중다례의 엄숙하고 장엄함을 갖추었음을 알 수 있다. 조선시대의 다례는 차를 진다하는 의식의 한 부분으로 사신을 영접하기 위한 다례와 궁중의 연회다례 등의 형태로 나타나 있음을 문헌 고찰을 통해 살펴보았다. 우리 조상들은 차를 마시며 차 생활의 일상화를 중요시 하였다. 이는 차 생활을 통한 정신세계의 중요성 때문이다. 우리는 전통문화를 계승하는 주체적 자각을 통해 차 생활에서 전통적 의미를 이어가는 것이 중요하다. 다도는 우리의 전통적인 사상, 역사, 종교,철학을 배경으로 한 총체적 문화로서 급변하는 현대사회에서의 정신적 문제점을 차의 진다의식을 통해 풀어볼 수 있게 하는데 이 연구의 의미가 있다.

Korean tea culture has developed as one of the elements which form the national spirit in our traditional culture through our long history. Da-lye at Silla age was held on the basis of Jong-myo Da-lye, the Heon Da-lye offering manner to Buddha in Buddhism, and basic thoughts forming Pungryudo of Hwarangdo. In Goryeo period, ‘Da-lye’ was held for the national ceremonies as J in-da ceremony, and it showed gravity and majesty of the Royal tea manner. Da-lye’ in Chosun age was a part of tea J inda ceremony. This paper studied through literatures that this J inda ceremony was held to welcome foreign envoys and to give Banquet of court. Our ancestors layed emphases on tea life for mental training. So, it is important to continue traditional meaning from tea life by succeeding traditional culture and independent awakening. As we considered ‘Da-lye’ in our history through the culture of tea, the reason why our ancestors enjoyed and emphasized the tea life was training the mental thought through the tea manners. Therefore it would be important to maintain the traditional meaning in tea life with spontaneous insight in succeeding Korean traditional culture. In this study there’s a meaning that ‘Da-do’ is the holistic culture which has the backgrounds of the traditional thought, history, religion and philosophy, and by this tea ceremonies we can get solutions about the realistic problems in abruptly changing society.
