A Study on the Characteristics of Silver Town Residents and Their Satisfaction

With improving economic condition of Korea, there are crucial issues about the importance of silver town in that social desire of the senior citizens has been elevated with an aging society. In these aspects, this study examines satisfaction of senior citizens who are living in silver town. Moreover, the purpose of the study is to grasp problems and suggest proper alternatives. The results of the study are as follows. First, according to personal factor, the average of age span was 77 years old. And almost all senior citizens had got the religions. Related facility factors were subordinate factors that were classified into facilities & environments, employees & program experts, and operation & management. Second, as far as effect of personal factors to influence the satisfaction of service & program (level of education, routine life, satisfaction about composition of program) is concerned, they are generally classified as follows: overall satisfaction is influenced by the age of senior citizen. Among the personal factors, the age of senior citizen is influenced by the level of education. Whether living with spouse or not is influenced by routine life. Finally, the level of education mainly influences the satisfaction of program composition. Third, when it comes to the effect of related facility factors to influence the satisfaction of program composition, overall satisfaction of related facility factors are influenced by the number of employee. Partially, satisfaction about the level of education in silver town is mainly influenced by the number of people in charge, and the satisfaction of routine life was largely influenced by employees. Finally, among the related facility factors, the most powerful effects were about the satisfaction of employee & program expert.
