Feasibility Test of a Checklist for Cooling-off Counseling for Students Considering School Dropout: Based on the Experience of Cooling-off Counseling and the Institutional Types

청소년 학업중단 숙려상담 체크리스트의 타당성 검증: 학교상담사의 학업중단 숙려상담 경험과 초ㆍ중ㆍ고ㆍ교육청 등 소속 기관을 중심으로

본 연구는 학업중단 숙려상담 체크리스트의 신뢰도와 타당도를 살펴보기 위한 것이다. 체크리스트는 정선영(2018)의 학업중단 숙려상담 모델의 6개 요소 17개 문항으로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 이 체크리스트의 타당성 검증을 위해 우선 델파이 전문가 3인의 검토를 통해 세부 문항을 확정하고, 그리고 전국 학교상담사 309명 대상 조사연구에서는 학업중단 숙려상담의 경험 유무와 소속 기관을 중심으로 연구문제를 설정하고 변별타당도를 검증하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년 학업중단 숙려상담 체크리스트는 문제정의, 지지하기, 대안탐색, 목표세우기, 실행 및 평가 각각 하위 3문항씩, 연계 및 추수 하위 2문항으로 총 17문항으로 개발되었다. 둘째, 체크리스트에 대한 학교상담사의 설문에서는 적합성을 판별하는 기준치를 넘어 6요인 17문항이 잘 설명되고 있는 것으로 분석되었고 도구의 신뢰도, 타당도가 확보되었다. 셋째, 학업중단 숙려상담 경험이 있는 경우 체크리스트가 유의한 차이로 더 타당하였다. 넷째, 고등학교에서 일반화의 가능성이 가장 높은 것으로 드러났다.

The purpose of this study was to confirm the reliability and feasibility of a checklist for cooling-off counseling for students considering school dropout. The checklist based on the study of Jung (2018) consists of 17 questions of six factors. In this study, the detailed questions were finalized through a review by three Delphi experts to verify the validity of this checklist, and the research questions were set around to look into how different they are according to the experience of school dropout counseling and their respective institutional types in a survey study of 309 school counselors nationwide. The results of the study are as follows: First, through the analysis of Delphi experts, the checklist for cooling-off counseling was developed into 17 questions with 6 factors such as problem identification, support exploration, alternatives search, target setting, execution & evaluation, and link & harvest. Second, the school counselor s questionnaire on the checklist confirmed that the 17 questions were well described verifying the reliability and feasibility of the tool. Third, the checklist was found to be more relevant by a significant margin when the experience of cooling-off counseling was compared. Fourth, the checklist were found to be more suitable for cooling-off counseling in middle school, high school, and education bureaus than in elementary school, and were most likely to be generalized especially in high school.
