In this paper, dual band microstrip patch antenna for 2.4GHz and UWB is proposed. The antenna is available in the 2.4GHz ISM band and 7.2GHz ~ 10.8GHz UWB frequency. The patch antenna has been designed and simulated in CST Microwave Studio using FR-4 substrate with dielectric constant of 4.3 and thickness of 1.6mm. Total size of the antenna is 20x40mm2. The analysis on performance was based on the obtained result especially in radiation pattern, bandwidth and return loss after optimizing the antenna parameters. From the simulations result, we obtained that the frequency of antenna is 2.20Hz~2.71GHz, 7.24GHz ~ 10.80GHz, less than -lOdB of the return loss, at ᄋ.51GHz and 2.76GHz bandwidth. The antenna also shows band-notched performance at the frequency band of 2.71GHz ~7.24GHz.
