Objective: The purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of task performance through open-ended questions on satisfaction with tasks and upper extremity functions of stroke patients. Method: This study was conducted on 18 stroke victims. Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test(JHFT) were measured to determine the patient s upper extremity function. The Canadian Occupational Performance Measure(COPM) was evaluated to learn about the patient s task satisfaction and desired goals. The Goal Attachment Scale(GAS) was evaluated to determine the degree of achievement of the patient s desired goal. Results: There were significant differences in JHFT, COPM, and GAS in task execution groups with open questions(p<.05). Conclusion: Task performance through open question was an efficient training for the upper extremity function and task satisfaction of stroke patients, and was found to be suitable for the task therapist s role guidance in rehabilitation treatment.
