The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of the importance of authenticity and the mediating effect of the surface acting self-efficacy in the relationship between the surface acting and the well-being. In this study, 170 sales and service employees answered the questionnaires, in order to measure their surface acting, well-being, importance of authenticity, surface acting self-efficacy. Using an SPSS program, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analysis were conducted. The results of this study are as follows: First, there is a significant relationship between surface behavior and well-being (exhaustion, job satisfaction). Second, the mediating effect of importance of authenticity is shown in the relationship between the surface acting and the exhaustion. Third, the mediating effect of importance of authenticity was also found in the relation between surface acting and job satisfaction. However, the mediating effects of surface acting self-efficacy did not appear both in the relationship between surface acting and exhaustion and in the relationship between surface acting and job satisfaction. Based on the results of these studies, we discussed the therapeutic interventions that can enhance the well-being of sales and service employees.
