다문화가정 청소년의 건강한 정체성 형성을 위한 홀리스틱 교육방안

A Holistic Educational Method for Self Identity Formation of Multicultural Adolescents

본 연구는 다문화가정 청소년의 자아정체성 형성경험을 규명하고, 그들의 다양한 경험과 그 의미를 탐색하기 위해 실시되었다. 연구 참여자는 다문화가정 청소년 14명으로, 이들과 면담한 자료를 Colaizzi의 현상학적 연구방법에 근거하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 4개의 대주제, 9개의 주제묶음, 그리고 21개의 소주제가 범주화되었다. 연구결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 참여자의 자아정체성 형성경험은 4개의 대주제 - 자아정체성 혼란 속에 고립됨, 주변사람의 지지가 자아정체성 형성에 도움이 됨, 또 다른 뿌리 찾기, 자아정체성이 긍정적으로 형성됨 - 가 확인되었다. 둘째, 이 과정의 의미를 탐색해보면 이 여정은 ‘시련가운데서 자기의 뿌리 찾기’로, ‘나는 한국인이다’라는 인식에서 ‘나는 한국인인가?’라는 위기로, 최종적으로는 ‘나는 00계 한국인이다’는 이중정체성을 수용하는 과정이었다. 또래들의 배척감은 어머니, 교사, 친구 등 주변의 지지와 도움으로 해소되었고 자기부정에서 자기긍정으로 변화하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 다문화가정 청소년의 건강한 정체성을 위한 홀리스틱 교육방안을 제안하고자 한다.

This study has been performed to investigate self identity formation of adolescent in multicultural families and inquire into various experience and meaning of the self identity formation. Subjects were 14 adolescents in multicultural families. The data was analyzed based on Colaizzi’s phenomenology method. The results were as follow: First, the main subjects were isolation in identity confusion, formation of identity activated by supporting of surrounding people, finding another roots and formation of positive self identity. Second, the main stream of this process was to find their own roots in dealing with crises and challenges. And participants perceived themselves as no identity, confusion of identity, and dual identity as time advanced. Third, while they explored their identity, adolescents were teased and isolated by peers. And they experienced the support from their mother, relatives on the mother side, teachers and friends. After finding this support, they explored their double identity and realized the merit as a multicultural child and finally they felt confident of their identity. Based on the result of this study, propose a holistic educatin method for healthy identity of adolescents in multicultural familites.
