담화 차원의 은유 고찰과 시 교육에의 적용 가능성: 박목월 시의 거울화 양상을 중심으로

Discussion on Metaphor in a Dimension of Discourse and Applicability to Poetry Education: Focused on the Aspects of Mirroring in Park Mok-wol’s Poems

본 연구는 담화의 차원에서 박목월 시의 거울화 양상을 고찰하고, 이를 대학생의시 교육과 연계할 수 있는 가능성을 고찰하는 데 목적을 두었다. 특히 본고는 대학생 들에게 친숙한 청록파 시인 박목월의 시를 연구 대상으로 삼았으며, 그의 시에 나타난 거울화 양상을 통해 은유 교육의 가능성을 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 담화의 차원에서 은유를 파악한 Hrushovski의 지시틀 이론을 방법론으로 차용하였다. 박목월 시의 거울화 양상은 생물의 거울화와 무생물의 거울화로 직조되어 있었다. 그의 시는 주로 시인의 존재론적 인식과 이상세계 및 절대적 존재에 대한 갈망이 맞물려 거울화가 나타나고 있다. 이는 나와 타자간의 수평적 소통 및 절대자와의 수직적 소통에 대한 갈망을 함축하고 있다. 본고는 주로 상징이나 이미지의 차원에서 논의해온 현대시의 ‘거울’을 담화 차원의 은유로 확대함으로써, 시 교육의 지평을 확대할 수 있는 가능성을 모색하였다. 이에 학생들은 시의 은유에 대한 단편적인 이해를 넘어 총체적인 이해에 도달할 수 있게 된다. 이를 통해 담화의 차원에서 고찰하는 은유를 대학생의 시 교육에 적용할 수 있는 가능성을 짚어볼 수 있었다.

This study aims to discuss the aspects of mirroring in Park Mok-wol’s poems in a dimension of discourse and discuss the possibility of connecting them to poetry education for college students. Especially, this study took the poems of Park Mok-wol, a poet from the Blue Deer School, with whom college students are familiar as the subject of the study and would seek the possibility of the education of metaphor through the aspects of mirroring appearing in his poetry. For this purpose, this study borrowed the frame of reference theory of Hrushovski, who understood metaphor in the dimension of discourse as a methodology. The aspects of mirroring in Park Mok-wol’s poems are woven by the mirroring of animate beings and the mirroring of inanimate beings. In his poetry, mirroring mainly appears, meshing with the poet’s ontological recognition and longing for an ideal world and absolute existence. This implies the longing for the horizontal communication between me and others and the vertical communication with the absolute. This study sought the possibility of the expansion of the horizon of poetry education by expanding the ‘mirror’ in modern poetry mainly discussed in the dimension of symbol or image to a metaphor in the dimension of discourse. Therefore, students could reach a comprehensive understanding, beyond the fragmentary understanding of metaphors in poetry. Through this, this study could examine the applicability of the metaphor discussed in the dimension of discourse to poetry education for college students.
