독립적/상호 의존적 자기 해석과 대화 제약: 성별 차이를 중심으로

This study aimed to investigate gender differences in the perceived importance of interactive constraints and independent / interdependent self-construal, and find if self-construal can work as a factor that causes gender differences in the perceived importance of interactive constraints. It was examined by a data analysis from a survey of 160 male and 160 female undergraduate students. The results showed that male participants tended to perceive concern for clarity more importantly than female participants and female participants tended to concern the hearer s feeling more importantly than their counterparts. Also, male participants viewed themselves more independent than female participants. But there was no significant evidence that female participants viewed themselves more interdependent than their counterparts. For both groups, causality between self-construal and the perceived importance of interactive constraints was examined and the tendency was more prominent among male participants.
