이순신 장례기록과 장례과정 검토

A Review of Yi Sun-sin Funeral Record and Course Record

본고에서는 이순신 장례에 대한 기록을 검토하였다. 사적 제114호 ‘완도 묘당도 이충무공 유적’ 중 월송대(月松臺)에 대한 기록을 완도군에 서 편찬한 관찬자료를 토대로 검토한 결과 고금도 통제영에서 이순신의 유해는 10여 일 머물렀다는 사실을 재확인하였다. 다음으로 이순신 관련 장례 기록을 검토한 결과 그의 유해가 월송대에 안치되었다는 사실은 확인되지 않았다. 월송대에 83일간 안장되었다는 이야기는 1980년대에 생산되었으며, 이는 조선시대 사대부의 상례(喪禮) 절차를 이해하지 못한 데에 기인한 것으로 보인다. 조선시대 사대부의 장사(葬事)는 상례에 따라 삼월장(三月葬)을 거쳐 장례가 치러졌기에 이순신 또한 삼월장을 거쳐 1599년 2월 11일 금성산에 안장되었다. 1614년(광해군 6)에는 금성산에서 어라산으로 묘의 이장 (移葬)을 실시하였다. 이러한 배경을 충훈부등록에서 찾아 본고에 소개 하였다. 본고를 통하여 그의 장례과정에 대한 올바른 이해를 돕고자 한다.

This study is purposed to review Wolsongdae of the Historical Site 114, ‘Yi Sun-sin Remains in Myodangdo, Wando’. The fact that Yi Sun-sin s body remained for ten days in Tongjeyoung in Gogeumdo was reaffirmed based on the historical literature which his body was arrived at his hometown in Asan through Tongjeyoung by his family after his death at the Noryang Naval Battle. And there is the fact that his body was buried after eighty (80) days from his death at the war in Mt. Geumseongsan in Asan according to the funeral system in Joseon dynasty and the funeral rites of the Sadaebu class called Samwoljang (3-month funeral) in that time. In addition, his grave was moved from Mt. Geomseongsan to Mt. Eorasan in 1614, because the posthumous honors were given to Yi Sun-sin as the first of Seonmugongsin (distinguished service in Imjinwoeran) in 1604. This study shows the records related to moving his grave through the register, Choonghunbu Deungrok . According to the records of the register on April 17th, 1614 (6th year of King Gwanghaegun’s reign), the family of Yi Sun-sin had suggested that his grave should be moved and the process be carried out as the precedent meritorious retainer funeral, because Yi Sun-sin did not receive such a ritual service at the time of his funeral. It is expected this review would help the public recognize correctly and right understanding of Yi Sun-sin s historical background located in Gogeumdo, Wando, and and the fact of the moving his grave made in sixteen years from his death in the battle
