가상현실(VR) 매체를 활용한 여성결혼이민자 대상 한국어 교육 방안

A Study on strategies for Korean education for marriage migrant women using VR tools

본 연구는 인공지능(AI) 매체를 활용한 교육의 효과성에 주목하여, 특히 외국어 학습자들이 심리적 부담감을 가장 많이 느끼는 말하기 훈련에 있어 AI 매체를 활용한 한국 여성결혼이민자 대상 한국어 수업 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 가상현실(VR) 매체를 사용한 언어 교육을 실시할 경우에 현존감 있는 콘텐츠 제공으로 인해 학습의 몰입도와 효과성을 높일 수 있다. 본 연구가 제시하는 콘텐츠는 현재 상용화되어 있는 ImmerseMe, Mondly의 기술 구현 방식을 기반으로, 대화 상대방의 발화를 듣고(듣기), 적절한 대답을 보기에서 골라서(읽기) 그것을 소리 내서 말하면(말하기), 기기가 음성을 인식하여 제대로 발음하면 대화 상대방이 이에 반응하여 대답하는 방식으로 구성되어 있다. VR 콘텐츠는 학습자가 실제 방문하는 장소의 분위기와 대화 상대방 음성을 현장감 있게 체험하도록 하여 여성 결혼이민자들의 실생활 대화에 대한 공포감을 해소해준다. 또한 은행 이용과 같이 결혼이민자들이 한국 사회에 적응하는 데 긴요하지만 전통적인 방식의 한국어 교재에서는 충분히 제공하지 못하는 실제적인 도움을 준다. 본 연구는 비교적 상용화되어 있는 VR 기기를 정부 지원으로 활용하여 초급 숙달도의 여성결혼이민자 한국어 학습자가 교실 학습 이외에 자기주도적인 언어 학습을 할 수 있는 블렌디드 러닝 교수 방안을 제안해보았다.

The purpose of this research is to suggest an effective method of Korean language teaching using AI tools. Korean marriage immigrant women are supposed to face not only language barriers but also cultural differences, among which having proper relationship with family members is crucial for them to be immersed into Korean society. When culture-based language education is performed utilizing AR(Augmented Reality), or VR(Virtual Reality) media, intensity and efficiency of education can be far improved due to its sense of presence. The content this study suggests here is based on the manner of technical realization used in ImmerseMe and Mondly, the well known VR application programs, and it also provides blended learning environment for the learners. The suggested content is composed of listening to what the counterpart of dialogue talks(listening), choosing the right answer for that(reading), reading aloud the answer(speaking) and learning non-verbal communication skills from how the talker responds. Such process could possibly reduces fears of daily life the marriage immigrant women will go through otherwise and help them to acquire both linguistic and cultural knowledge.
