대학생의 핵심역량 진단도구 개발 연구: A지역의 S대학을 중심으로

A Study on Developing and Validating an Assessment Tool for the Collegiate Core Competency: Focusing on the Case of S University

본 연구는 S대학의 교육이념과 인재상에 부합하는 핵심역량을 도출하고 이를 측정할 수 있는 진단도구를 개발하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 대학생의 핵심역량 구성 요인에 관한 선행연구 분석과 브레인스토밍 기법을 통하여 3 개(나눔 실천, 창의 실무, 글로컬 소통)의 핵심 영역, 9개(사회 공감, 타인 공감, 자기공감, 평생학습, 통섭, 창의적 문제해결, 글로벌, 지역사회, 커뮤니케이션)의 핵심 역량, 180개의 예비 문항을 도출하였다. 예비문항에 대하여 대학 내 주요 위원회의 위원들을 대상으로 안면 타당도 검증을 실시하여 90개의 문항으로 이루어진 핵심역량 진단도구를 개발하였고, 그에 대해 S대학교 학생 5,158명을 대상으로 2015년 3월과 10월 두 차례에 걸쳐 타당화 검증을 진행하였다. 타당화 과정에서는 내적일치도로 신뢰도를, 상관관계분석과 t 검정으로 타당도를 검증하였는데, K-CESA 중 유사한 영역과 본 핵심역량 진단도구의 상관관계를 분석하여 준거 관련 타당도를, 대학생의 핵심역량 개발에 영향을 미칠 것으로 생각되는 대학 내 프로그램 참여자를 비참여들과 비교하여 변별타당도를 점검하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 신뢰도와 타당도가 확보된 9개 핵심 영역, 89개 문항의 S 대학교 핵심역량 진단도구가 개발되었다.

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate an assessment tool for the core competency for S university students. The study was conducted in two steps. In the first step, the authors concentrated on establishing the constructs of core competencies that are suited for the university’s mission and educational goals. Through brainstorming and the literature review, the core competency committee derived 3 main competencies with 9 core competencies and developed a preliminary 180-item scale for the competency assessment. With the preliminary scale, the authors conducted the face validity test with 22 professors in administrative positions and resulted in 90-item scale. In the next step, the authors conducted a series of tests in order to establish the tool’s reliability and validity. Total of 5,158 students have participated for the study. For a reliable assessment tool, the internal consistency was tested for the whole and its 9 sub-scales. To establish the tool’s criterion-related validity and discriminant validity, correlation and t-tests were conducted. The results indicated that the 9-category, 89-item core competency assessment tool for the S university is reliable and valid.
