한국, 미국, 영국 정보과 교육과정에의 연계성 비교 분석: ‘자료와 정보’, ‘정보문화’ 영역 중심으로

A Comparative Analysis on the Sequence and Integrity of the Informatics Curriculum in Korea, US, and UK: Focus on the Content Areas of Data and Information and Information Culture

본 연구에서는 한국⋅미국⋅영국의 정보과 교육과정의 연계성을 비교⋅분 석하여 각 교육과정에서 연계성 강화를 위한 방안과 특징을 파악하고 시사점을 도출 하였다. 이를 통해 우리나라 정보과 교육과정에서 연계성 강화를 위한 방안과 정보교육 현장에서의 활용 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 교육과정 분석을 위해 한국⋅미국⋅ 영국의 교육과정 원문과 안내 지침서 및 관련 자료를 활용하였고, 연계성 국제 비교 기준에 근거하여 정보과 교육과정 전반과 ‘자료와 정보’, ‘정보문화’ 영역을 중심으로 종적 연계성(계속성, 계열성)과 횡적 연계성(통합성)을 비교⋅분석하였다. 분석 결과, 각 교육과정은 종적⋅횡적 연계성 확보를 위한 특징적 장치를 마련하여 복합적으로 활용하고 있었다. 연계성 확보 방안으로 정보 교과 교육과정 내 영역 간 연결고리의 구조적 제시, 정보 교과의 전체적 목적성과 영역 간 관계 강조, 특정 개념 및 내용을 중심으로 유관한 타 영역 연계 등을 확인할 수 있었다. 향후 우리나라 정보과 교육과정의 연계성 강화를 위해 정보 교육과정의 구조적 측면, 정보 교과 자체의 목적성과 영역 간 관계성 측면, 정보 교과 내 개념 단위 측면 등 다각도의 접근을 고려해야할 것이다.

The purpose of this paper is to compare and analyze the sequence and integrity of informatics curriculum in Korea, US and UK to derive the suggestion for informatics curriculum of Korea. Curriculums, guides and related materials of each countries were used for this study. Based on the criteria for international comparison, continuity and sequence for vertical connectivity and integration for lateral connectivity were analyzed on the informatics curriculum and contents area of ‘data and information’ and ‘information culture’. As a result, three ways for vertical and lateral connectivity were found: structural link of curriculum among content areas, emphasis of objectivity of subject itself and relationship among the content areas, and collaborated works based on specific concept or topic and its related areas. They ware distinctive features for vertical and lateral connectivity in each curriculum and used in combination. This study suggests that approaches in terms of structure of curriculum, objectivity of informatics and relationship among content areas, and specific concepts or topics of informatics for better sequence and integrity of informatics curriculum in Korea.
