Effects of Gender and Work and Life Balance on Job-related Performance

- Focusing on the Case of L Foods Company

  • 27

This study is to investigate whether employees’ demographics, two time-related factors, and work and life imbalance will affect their job-related performances such as company affiliation, organizational commitment, job attitude, and job satisfaction. For the survey research, cluster sampling method was adopted. The sample was drawn from employees at a L food company in Chungcheongbuk-do province. From the first analyses with two time-related factors and work and life imbalance, results showed that work and life imbalance negatively affected all job-related performances except job attitude. The second analyses add gender as an independent as well as a moderating variable to independent variables included in the first analyses. Results of the second analyses were considerably different from those of the first analyses. Gender turned out to be a substantially significant factor to job-related performances while effects of work and life imbalance were completely nullified. More detail discussions were presented in the conclusion section.
