대장편소설에 나타난 여선 면모 주인공 연구

A study on the heroine who has a Taoist-aspects in the Saga

이 글은 <화산선계록> 이옥수, <취승루> 경선염이 지닌 ‘여선 면모’를 살폈다. 이로써 대장편소설과 여성영웅소설 사이 교섭 양상 및 조선 후기 대장편소설 변천의 일향방을 논의했다. 이옥수는 괵국부인, 경선염은 남악 위부인 문하에서 수학했다. 두 대장편소설에 나타난, 고난을 겪던 여성이 신선을 만나 비범한 능력을 얻고 이를 토대로 삼아 사건을 해결하는 전개는 여성영웅소설과 방불했다. 따라서 두 대장편소설은 여성 영웅소설 속 여성영웅을 의식하며 이옥수와 경선염을 형상했다. <화산선계록> 이옥수와 <취승루> 경선염은 여선 면모를 갖추고 활약했다. 하지만 선술을 발휘하는 방식은 달랐다. 이러한 공통점과 변별점은 작가 인식에 따라 여성영웅소설의 문제의식이 변주된 결과였다. 여성영웅소설의 문제의식을 변주하는 방식은 네 가지였다. 기준은 선도의 이념성, 武勇의 유무였다. <화산선계록>과 <취승루>는 무용의 발휘 여부가 대별되었으나, 선도가 대안 이념이 되지 않는 점은 일치했다. 두 주인공은 신선 문하에서 수련하면서도 규녀로서 마음가짐을 잃지 않았고 선술을 충ㆍ 효ㆍ 열을 구현하는 데 썼다. 따라서 <화산선계록> 이옥수, <취승루> 경선염은 ‘수신’에 주안을 두었던 대장편소설의 전통적 의제를 계승하면서도 여성의 능력 함양, 사회 참여라는 새로운 의제를 끌어와 문제의식의 확장을 꾀했던 대장편소설 변천의 일향방을 보여준다는 점에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

This article analyzed the heroine who has a Taoist-aspects in the Hwasanseongyelog(華山仙界錄) and the Chwiseunglu(取勝樓). Lee Ok-soo is a heroine of the Hwasanseongyelog. Gyeong Seon-yeom is a heroine of the Chwiseunglu. Lee Ok-soo’s teacher is Goeggugbuin who lived in a Tang(唐) Dynasty. Lee Ok-soo was studied the Heaven-sent Book and she got a Transcendental wisdom. She solve the problem with a Transcendental wisdom. Gyeong Seon-yeom’s teacher is historic Taoist Wi. Gyeong Seon-yeom was studied the Heaven-sent Book and Martial art. Lee Ok-soo and Gyeong Seon-yeom was be shaped a Female hero. It is a result of consciousness of a female hero novel. but Lee Ok-soo does not studied a Martial art. so a Female hero Lee Ok-soo’s ability was limited a wisdom. The Chwiseunglu embraced the concept of involving women in a Female hero novel. Gyeong Seon-yeom was follow her husband s advice, and she involved in a Men s Field. A Women s social participation turned into the problem that men and women should approach together in The Chwiseunglu. Lee Ok-soo and Gyeong Seon-yeom is meaningful character in the history of Saga. And Lee Ok-soo and Gyeong Seon-yeom is convincing evidence of a link between a Female hero novel and the Saga. The heroine Lee Ok-soo, Gyeong Seon-yeom is a historical evidence of Self-renewal of the Saga.
