A Study on the Representation Method of “An-Hae” in Yi Sang’s Poetry

이 글은 이상 문학의 ‘나’를 탐구하는 연구 중 하나로서, 그의 문학 ‘설계’의 중축이 되는 ‘안해’와의 관계 속에서 ‘나’의 의미를 살핀다. 주체가 타자를 인식하는 방식을 통해 주체의 의미를 규명하는 작업은 이상 연구사에서 주요하게 형성되어 왔다. 그러나 ‘안해’라는 기호에 대한 접근은 실존 여성인물들과의 직접적 일치 속에서, 아울러 오랜 기간 문학사가 여성 기호를 타자화하는 전통적 방식 속에서 도구화되어 왔다는 것이 이 글의 주된 문제의식이다. ‘안해’ 기호의 신비화 혹은 타자화는 그것을 표상하는 방식을 통해 의미화되는 주체의 의미 또한 고정시킨다. ‘안해’를 시적 주체가 도달해야 하는 궁극의 진리로 상상하며, ‘진실’을 담보한 기호로 해석할 때, 시적 주체의 의미는 대상화된 타자를 통해 ‘객관적 주체’, ‘반성적 주체’의 위치를 얻게 되는 것이다. 그러나 타자와의 간극, 만남의 문제를 언어 실험의 가장 중요한 테제로 삼았던 이상의 연구는 ‘안해’의 의미를 언어의 형식으로 남김으로써 ‘간극’의 가능성을 열어둔다.

This paper is one of the studies on “self-exploration” in Yi Sang literature, looking into the meaning of “self” in relationship with “An-Hae,” which is the centerpiece of his literary “design.” Many studies on Yi Sang have been focusing on identifying the meaning of the subject. However, this paper mainly focuses on the fact that the approach to the symbol “An-Hae” has long been utilized as a tool in traditionally objectifying female symbols in line directly with real female characters. Mystification or objectification of the symbol, “An-Hae”, also determines the meaning of the subject, which is meaningful through the way it is represented. The meaning of the poetic subject is to gain the position of the “objective subject” and “reflective subject” by objectifying the Other in imagining the “An-Hae” as the ultimate truth that the poetic subject must reach and interpreting it as a symbol that secures the “truth”. However, works of Yi Yi Sang, which have regarded the issue of gap and meeting with the Other as the most important topic of language experimentation, open up the possibility of “gap” by leaving the meaning of “An-Hae” as a form of language.
