Purpose - In 2005, Market Promotion Commission was founded to educate and to reform retailers and traditional market. In October 2006, not only commission of shop teaching but also committee of market consulting was opened to find out problems at visit and to give reformation. Before carrying forward the market development business, direction for reformation was proposed and experts of each area were put. Especially, for the last few years, number of retailers who are interested in learning store guidance has been increasing. This study analyzes how visual merchandising design(VMD) support business can improve retailer and help traditional market development. The purpose of this study is to find developmental strategy of traditional market and increase sales. Research design, data, and methodology - Small merchants gather at traditional market to sell goods. Traditional market includes market in the era of the Three Kingdom to have 3-days market and 5-days market and periodical market and permanent market. This chapter investigated Seokchon Market in 2010, Incheon Gangnam Market in 2013, Buyeo Jungang Market in 2015, Seongnam Sutgol Market and Jungang Market in 2019. Result - The voluntary commitment and theoretical education seem to reduce the number of leads but raise the seller s satisfaction. Conclusion - It is important that visual merchandising specialists of small market corporation market promotion corporation visits each store directly to identify the situation of the site, to suggest improvement direction, and to improve the way, so that the shop owner becomes a visual merchandising manager himself.
