재활병원 간호사의 보완·대체의사소통 실무현황과 교육요구

A Study on the Augmentative & Alternative Communication Practice and Educational Needs of Nurses in Rehabilitation Hospital: A Pilot Study

본 연구는 의사소통 곤란자를 간호하는 간호사를 대상으로 임상현장에서의 보완·대체 의사소통에 대한 인식 및 지식 정도와 활용현황을 조사하여 현장요구에부합하는 보완·대체 의사소통 전략을 적용한 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 연구설계는 서술적 조사연구이며, 재활병원 3곳의 간호사 116명을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. 일반적 특성, 보완·대체 의사소통 경험, 보완·대체 의사소통 관련 지식, 보완·대체 의사소통의 활용 필요성에 대해 선행연구를 기반으로 연구자가 개발한 질문지를 활용하였다. 응답자의 96.6%가 의사소통 곤란자를 간호한 경험이 있었다. 조사 대상의 92.2%가 보완·대체 의사소통에 대한 교육 필요성을 인식하고 있었고, 75.7%가 적절한 보완·대체 의사소통 도구의 사용이 요구된다고 응답하였으며, 40.2%가 보완·대체 의사소통 사용 방법이나 전략 교육이 필요하다고 하였다. 보완대체 의사소통 적용을 경험한 사람들이 이에 대한 교육 요구는 유의미하게 높았다(p=.023). 보건의료 현장에서의 의사소통 능력 강화에 대한 요구는 점차 증가하고 있으며, 따라서 전문성을 갖춘 의사소통 증진 전략을 수립해야 하고, 전문화된 의사소통 기구의 활용 및 의사소통 곤란자의 요구를 충족시키기 위한 다양한 노력이 필요하다.

This study was conducted to investigate awareness and knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) at clinical sites and utilization status so that AAC can be systematically applied to rehabilitation hospital subjects complaining of communication difficulties. Research design is a descriptive investigation study, 116 nurses from 3 rehabilitation hospitals were the subjects of this study. Descriptive statistics and chi-square tests were used as data analysis methods. 96.6 % of the subjects said they have had experiences of nursing people with communication difficulties, and the frequency of the experience was high in the order of people with speech disorders due to brain disease, patients with trachea intubation, elderly people with vision or hearing loss. 92.2% of the subjects recognized the need for education on AAC, and 75.7% of the subjects answered that appropriate complementary and alternative communication tools are required, and 40.2% said it was necessary to use AAC methods or strategic education. 51.7% of the respondents said they did not know about AAC, and those who experienced the application of AAC had significantly higher educational requirements compared to those who did not (p=.023). The demand for enhanced communication skills in the health care site is increasing gradually, and for this purpose, strategies for enhancing communication with expertise should be established. A variety of efforts are needed to meet the needs of the use of specialized communication equipment and the need for communication difficulties.
