주간보호시설에서의 장애인평생교육 운영에 대한 종사자 인식

Worker’s Awareness about Lifelong Education for People with Disabilities in Day Care Center

이 연구는 최근 증가하고 있는 장애인 주간보호시설에서 장애인의 의미 있는 낮 시간 보내기와 효율적인 지역사회 중심 재활서비스 제공을 위해 장애인평생교육을 운영하고 있는 종사자 인식을 탐색하려는데 목적이 있다. 이 연구를 위해 장애인주간보호시설 중 현재 장애인평생교육 프로그램을 운영하고 있거나 도입하고자 하는 주간보호시설의 종사자 6명을 연구참여자로 선정하였다. 자료수집을 위해 서울과 경기에 위치한 주간보호시설 중 장애인평생교육을 재활서비스 영역에 포함시키거나 별도의 프로그램으로 운영하고 있는 시설 종사자를 대상으로 개별면담을 실시하였다. 자료분석은 질적 연구방법인 코딩과정을 통해 개념화, 부호화, 핵심주제 도출의 과정을 거쳤다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주간보호시설 종사자가 인식하는 장애인평생교육의 도입과정은 평생교육을 재활서비스영역 중 하나로 보거나 자립생활교육을 통해 도입함을 알 수 있었다. 둘쨰, 주간보호시설 종사자가 인식하는 장애인평생교육의 어려움으로는 많은 조력자를 필요로 하는 운영형태, 열악한 강사비와강사 비전문성으로 인한 프로그램 질 저하, 평생교육을 바라보는 교육과 복지 관점의 차이로 나타났다. 셋째, 주간보호시설 종사자가 인식하는 장애인평생교육 운영의 의의로는 보호차원을 넘어 쓰임새 있는 인간으로의 인식 전환, 계속교육으로서의 평생교육, 새로운 시대에 적응을 위한 평생 교육적 요구와 시도 등이 있음을 알 수 있었다.

This study aimed to investigate awareness of workers on lifelong education operation for significant daytime and life-capability empowerment of people with disabilities in day care center which are increased numerically. The participants of this study were six workers of day care center which operated lifelong education for people with disabilities or tried to impose lifelong education for people with disabilities newly in Seoul and Kyunggi do. The data collection consisted of literature review and deep interview with five workers. The data analysis for deduction of the result composed of course of conceptualization, encoding, sub-theme and core-theme. The result of this study were as follows as. First, the introduction process of lifelong education for persons with severe disabilities which perceived by day care center workers was recognized as one of rehabilitation service areas or one part of independent living education. Second, the operating difficulties of lifelong education for persons with disabilities perceived by the workers, appeared as operation to need many helpers, poor lecturer fees, poor program quality, and a difference in education and welfare perspectives towards lifelong education. Third, the significance of the lifelong education program operating for persons with disabilities which recognized the workers, appeared as a usable person beyond protected human being, lifelong education as continuing education and education to adapt to the new age.
