한국 평신도 교회의 등장과 그 성경적 고찰

A Biblical Analysis on the Entrance of Laity Church in Korea

예수는 베드로의 고백에 대해 ‘내 교회’를 세운다고 선언하였고(마16:18), 오순절의 성령 강림으로(행 2:4) 인류 최초의 교회가 실제로 성립하였다. 그러므로 교회는 고백하는 신도와 직접 임하는 성령이란 두 요인에 의해 성립한다. 하나님과 직접 소통하는 신도 모두는 신분의 차별이 없는 형제들이다. 그러나 교회에는 소위 ‘성직자’라는 제 3의 요인이 등장하여 하나님과 신도 사이에 개입하였다. 신도는 평신도로 강등되었고 하나님과의 직접 소통은 차단되었다. 바로 예수가 지적한 상황(마 23:13)이 발생한 것이다. 당시 유대교 성직자의 100%가 그리고 예수의 재림 시에는 신도의 50%도 거짓이라(마 25:1-2) 할 수 있다. 이러한 상황에서 신도 개개인이 직접 하나님 앞에서(Coram Deo) 자신을 돌아보아 구원을 이루는 것이 평신도 교회의 목적이다. 국가의 간섭은 물론 성직자의 영향으로부터 벗어나 스스로 그리스도의 몸 됨을 확인하며 직접 하나님과 소통하는 것이다. 현재 한국에는 이를 위해 기존 교회를 떠난 소위 ‘가나안 성도’들이 최소 200만 명으로 추산된다. 이들은 여러 모임도 가지고, 또 교회도 세운다. 허나 아직 소규모와 익명이란 특성상 완전한 파악이 어렵다. 그러나 평민의 수준이 나라의 수준이듯, 평신도 교회의 발전이 한국 교회와 사회 전체의 발전에 연관되어 있음에 틀림없다.

On the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came down on the about 120 believers (Acts 2:4) and the Church, that Jesus had promised (Mt 16:18), came into the world. Therefore, it is clear, that the elements of Church are two: 1) Believer and 2) the Holy Spirit. It is also clear that all believers are equal and of the same status. But afterwards, due to the increase of the number of believers, the church was organized into a system and special roles and status were assigned to different people. In this time the third element, 3) Clergy, slipped into the church. And in the history Clergy, just like kings in the world, play a dominant role in the church and alienates believers from God. Therefore some believers in Korea realize their own spiritually is held captive and so come out of the church in order to find themselves before God(Coram Deo) and come nearer to their Father in heaven. They are so called ‘Canaan Saints’. They are indeed not lost, but returned Prodigal Sons. They come together, have voluntary meetings and establish churches. These churches are ‘Laity Churches’ without clergy. They want believing without any belonging, as God’s children of equal status and a priesthood of all believers.
