東野彙集 에 삽입된 한시의 양상과 의미 *

Accepted patterns and meanings of chinese poem in <Dongyawhijip>

본 연구는 동야휘집 에 삽입된 한시에 주목하여, 그것이 이야기 속에서 지니는 의미를 밝히고자 하였다. 동야휘집 의 편찬자가 조선 시대 야담집의 편찬 방식을 따르면서도 독자적인 특징을 지니고 있는 점을 고려해볼 때, 이야기 속에 시를 삽입한 것은 편찬자의 의도 및 의미가 있을 것이라고 생각되었기 때문이다. 서정성이 짙은 한시가 서사 안으로 흡수됨으로써 시가 이야기에서 갖는 의미가 있을 것이라 판단하였다. 동야휘집 에 수록된 이야기들을 살펴보면, 모든 이야기에서 시를 삽입 하고 있는 것은 아니지만 많은 일화에서 시를 포함하고 있는 것을 확인할수 있었다. 삽입 한시의 양상을 살펴보더라도 하나의 이야기에 하나의 시를 삽입한 경우도 있고, 하나의 이야기 속에 여러 편의 한시가 삽입되어있는 경우도 있다. 이야기 속의 주인공이 창작한 시가 작품 안으로 삽입되어있는 경우가 대부분이기는 하지만 그렇지 않은 경우도 확인된다. 서사 안으로 서정성이 짙은 한시를 수용함에 있어서 이야기에서 구현하고자 한 것이 무엇 이었는지를 밝히고자 하였다. 동야휘집에 삽입된 한시의 양상들은 인물에 대한 서술 부연, 인물의 재능 드러내기, 인물이 처한 상황 또는 인물에 대한 요약적 제시, 내면 감정 표현, 예지 등 다양하게 드러났으며, 이러한 양상이 갖는 의미는 ‘서사의 보완’과 ‘인물에 대한 종합적 검토’, ‘작가의 문예미 표출’로 파악할 수 있었다. 따라서 이번 연구를 통해 그동안 논의되어온 교섭 양상과 의미의 외연을 확장시켜줄 것으로 기대한다. 서사 안으로 시가 삽입된 것은 작가의 의도가 읽혀지는 부분이다. 야담은 구연이라는 특징이 강하게 작용하는바, 그 안으로 서정성이 짙은 한시가 삽입됨으로써 작가의 글쓰기 전략이 발휘되는 부분이라 할 수 있겠다. 야담의 서술에서는 구어적인 한문투, 일상적인 한문 투들이 확인되는데, 그러한 이야기 서술 속에서 보다 정형화된 한시가 수용되면서 사대부로서의 글쓰기의 성격을 강하게 띠는 맥락으로 이해할 수있다.

This study focuses on ‘Chinese poem’ inserted in ‘Dongyawhijip’ and tried to clarify the meaning of it in the story. Considering that the compiler of Dongyawhijip has unique characteristics even after following the method of compilation of Yadam, It is because it is thought that the author s intention and meaning is to insert poetry in the story. Because Chinese poem with lyricism is absorbed into narrative, it is thought that poetry has meaning in story. If you look at the stories in Dongyawhijip, you can see that many episodes contain poetry, although not all of the stories have poetry. Even if we look at the aspect of insertion Chinese poem, there is a case where one poem is inserted into one story, and there are cases where several Chinese poem are inserted in one story. It is often the case that the poem created by the protagonist in the story is inserted into the work, but it is also confirmed that it is not. The aspects of Chinese poem inserted into Dongyawhijip were variously revealed such as ‘Confirmation and demonstration of talent of main character’, ‘Proof of summary of narrative or character’, ‘Expression of inner emotions’, ‘Communication’, ‘Foresight’, The meaning of this aspect can be analyzed as ‘intensification of emotion expression’ and ‘expression of the writer s literary’ meaning. Therefore, I hope that this study will enlarge the outline of the negotiation aspect and meaning which have been discussed. The insertion of the poem into the narrative is the part where the artist s intention is read. Yadam is a characteristic of narration, and it can be said that a writer s writing strategy is exercised by inserting Chinese poem with a lyricism in it. In the description of Yadam, ‘spoken Chinese text’ and ‘ordinary Chinese texts’ are confirmed, In such a describe story, a more formalized Chinese poem is accepted, and it can be understood as a context in which the nature of writing as nobility is strong.
