본 연구는 <칠곡 가시나들>영화를 공연문화예술지 연구방법을 통해 그들 안에 내재된 문화를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 영화를 다큐비평의 관점으로 분석하였고, 문해교육 현장의 감독과 교사, 행정관료, 추진기관과 교육기관 등으로 구분하여 관계자들을 조사하고 면담하였다. 연구자는 정책과 연결된 문해교육사업은 어떻게 현장에서 학습자들을 만나고 성장을 시키고 있는 지 그 구체적인 과정을 알 수 있었다. 그들의 성장의 과정은 단순히 글자를 익히는 것이 아니었다. 그들에게 학습과정 은 재미있는 놀이였다. 관람객에게 이 영화는 존재를 일깨우는 ‘대화’를 불러일으키는 장치였다. 영화를 통해 감독은 노년을 어떻게 만나야 하는지를 전달하는 의미있는 대변자가 되었다. 문해교육에서 글자중심의 교육은 지양되어야 하고, 당사자 존 중의 관점과 지지 등 세심한 정책적 배려와 문화적 옹호는 확대될 필요가 있음을 확인했다. 이 연구는 기능문해 교육의 틀에서 벗어나 학습자의 욕구를 반영한 목표와 정서적 유대를 강화하는 방향으로 설계되어야 함을 밝힌 데 있다.

This study sought to explore the culture inherent in Chilgok s Girles films through the study method of performing arts and arts.
