충남 금산지역의 비보설화 고찰

A Study on the story complemented the terrain in Geumsan Area in South Chungcheong Province

금산지역 마을에는 다수의 비보담(裨補談)이 전승된다. 이처럼 금산지역에 다수의 비보담이 전승되는 이유는 풍수상 마을입지에 결함이 많기 때문이다. 이 고장은 소백산맥 하단과 노령산맥 상단에 속하는 지역으로 산세가 거칠고 경사가 가파르다. 사람들의 삶터가 이러한 산세에 위치하다보니 자연스럽게 결함을 지니게 되었다. 비보담은 마을입지의 인위적 보완에 관한 이야기다. 그 속에는 재난에 대한 예방이나 극복과정이 담겨 있다. 또한 안정적인 삶을 취하기 위한 다양한 시도와 경험이 담겨있다. 이 글에서는 금산지역의 비보담을 형국담, 화기담, 수구담으로 나누어 분석하였다. 형국담은 마을이나 마을을 감싸고 있는 산의 모양에 관한 이야기이다. 특정한 형국은 행운과 불행을 동반하는데 행운을 유지하기 위한 사람들의 노력을 요구한다. 이러한 관점에 주목하여 행운을 유지하기 위한 주민들의 노력과 그 과정에서 생성된 비보물에 대해 살펴보았다. 화기담은 금산지역에 폭넓게 분포한다. 이 고장에 다수의 화기담이 전승되는 것은 지리적 특성상 화산(火山)이 많기 때문이다. 이에 주목하여 화재로 인한 피해와 이를 예방하기 위한 이 고장 사람들의 비보표현을 다루었다. 수구담은 마을입지의 지기(地氣)를 보완하기 위한 내용으로 구성되어 있다. 지리적 특성상 금산지역 마을의 다수는 수구에 결함이 나타난다. 따라서 주민들은 이 결함을 보완하기 위해 다양한 비보를 시도한다. 이 같은 일련의 비보행위를 중심으로 수구담을 분석하였다. 나아가 금산지역의 비보담에 담긴 세 가지 특징을 살펴보았다. 구체적으로 금산지역의 입지특성을 반영하고 있는 점, 비보물의 건립과 유래가 녹아있는 점, 공동체의례의 신앙적 기반이라는 점을 논의하였다.

In Geumsan area, numerous a story complemented the terrain are being told.As such, there are many reasons why many of a story complemented the terrain tell the Geumsan area. First, the Sobaek Mountains and the Nohryeong Mountains are in contact with each other. Second, there are many big mountains, so there is a big slope. Third, the space where the village is located is cramped. Therefore, people worry a lot about complemented the terrain of the village s space. The story of complementing the terrain is about seeking harmony in the village space. The story deals with the prevention or overcoming of disasters. There are also various efforts and wisdom to take people s stable lives. In the full-scale discussion, the following three topics were analysed: First, it is a discussion about the shape of a mountain or village site. Our country traditionally thinks that according to the shape of mountains and villages, there are good luck and bad luck. Therefore, people carefully judge the shape of the mountain and make up for the lack. In this paper, various thoughts and experiences on the shape of these mountains or villages were analyzed. Second, the mountains are divided into four types according to their shape. One of them is divided into fire-causing mountains. The village facing the fire-causing mountain thought a fire broke out. in Geumsan, there were so many mountains that caused fires. Therefore, there were frequent fires in the village. In this paper, we discuss the cause of the fire or the countermeasures against it in relation to this point. In general, the village entrance is lined with two mountains on the left and right sides. These two mountains should be located at a quiet distance. Instead, I thought that if the two mountains were too far away, the good energy of the village would escape. The villagers thought about this and took measures to deal with it. As a result, they built towers or planted trees in front of the village. I think this will stabilize the town. In this paper, various stories about the supplementation of the village site were discussed. Furthermore, the characteristics of the story of the site of the village in Geumsan area were summarized as follows. First, the story of the topography supplement well reflects the geographical characteristics of Geumsan. Second, it becomes important data to reveal the origin of the tower or forest to complement the terrain. Third, it is an important factor in supporting these story community rites.
