The inter-industrial inducement effects of the Gunsan Hyundai Shipyard closure on the production, value-added, imports, unemployment of 82 regional industrial sectors in the 16 provincial areas of the Korean economy have been estimated by the inter-industry analysis with the ‘2013 Regional Input-Output Statistics’, which was published recently in 2015 by the Bank of Korea. The impacts of the Gunsan Hyundai Shipyard closure on the production, value-added, imports, unemployment have been computed under the scenario that the closure would be attributed by the reduction of the ship exports at the amount of ₩1,137.1 billion in Jeollabuk-do. It is expected that the closure would reduce ₩1,339.1 billion worth of output, ₩339.4 billion worth of value-added, ₩266.5 billion worth of imports, and 3,538 workers in Jeollabuk-do as a whole. It is also expected that the closure would reduce ₩2,531.3 billion worth of output, ₩674.5 billion worth of value-added, ₩460.2 billion worth of imports, and 8,581 workers nation widely in Korea.
