A Study on the relationship between physical activity, mental health, oral health and quality of life according to chewing difficulty

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the correlation between physical activity, mental health, oral health and quality of life according to chewing difficulty with the 6,7th National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) data. Methods: Data was analyzed using the IBM SPSS ver. 25.0 (IBM Co., Armonk, NY, USA) software, and a complex sampling analysis with stratified variables, clustered variables. A total of 19,901people were selected as the study population. Results: In the case of proper exercise, there was less appeal of chewing(p<0.001). The higher the perceived stress, the more depressive feelings over two weeks, the more psychological counseling experience, and the more suicidal thoughts and suicide attempts, the higher the complaints of chewing difficulty(p<0.001). Conclusions: It was found that the discomfort of chewing was related to all items. Investigating the complaints of chewing difficulty could be used as an index for assessing general health and oral health.
