부모의 위험에 대한 태도와 자녀의 위험성 감수놀이 허용도 간의 관계: 아버지와 어머니의 차이를 중심으로

The Relationship between Parents’ Attitudes towards Risk and Their Permission Level for Their Children’s Engagement in Risk-Taking Plays: Focusing on the Difference between Fathers and Mothers

본 연구는 영유아의 위험성 감수놀이에 대해 보다 깊은 이해를 도모하기 위하여 부모의 위험에 대한 태도와 자녀의 위험성 감수놀이 허용도 간의 관계를 아버지와 어머니 차이를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 서울과 경기지역 어린이집에 재원중 인 만 1-5세 영유아의 아버지와 어머니 202쌍인 총 404명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 SPSS 프로그램으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 아버지가 어머니보다 위험을 감수하려는 태도가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자녀의 위험성 감수놀이에 대한 허용도는 아버지와 어머니 간에 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 아버지와 어머니 모두 위험을 감수하려는 태도가 높을수록 자녀에게 위험성 감수놀이를 더 많이 허용하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 영유아의 위험성 감수놀이 참여에 영향을 미치는 부모요인에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히며, 위험성 감수놀이 확산을 위한 부모교육의 방향성 및 지원에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

This paper studies the relationship between parents’ attitudes towards risk and their tolerance level for their children s engagement in risk-taking plays, focusing on the difference between fathers and mothers, with the goal of fostering a deeper understanding of children’s risk-taking plays. A survey has been conducted targeting 202 pairs fathers and mothers of children of age from 1 to 5 attending daycare centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi region, and the survey results were analyzed using the SPSS program. The results of the analysis have shown that, first, fathers tend to be more risk-seeking than mothers. Second, fathers and mothers displayed no significant difference in their permission level for their children’s engagement in risk-taking plays. Third, the more risk-seeking a father or a mother is, the higher permission level the parent is likely to have for his or her children’s engagement in risk-taking plays. The results of this study are expected to broaden the understanding of parental factors influencing children’s engagement in risk-taking plays and help set the direction of parent education for promoting risk-taking plays for children.
